About Me

Before my lengthy career in banking I qualified as a Registered General Nurse, training at the Nightingale School of Nursing, St Thomas’ Hospital, London.

Wanting to explore other career options continued my studies and obtained a BA (Hons) 2:1: in Business Studies

Met my husband @ University in Sheffield, we share a love of the outdoors, our first holiday together was rock climbing in the French Alps!

Sheffield connection continuing today with both our sons living/studying in Sheffield

Our family is scattered far & wide from Great Harwood in Lancashire via the South of France to Perth, Australia.

My time at NatWest & RBS has all been in the North West despite me being a Southerner from Bristol.

I was the first female Manager amongst 54 Relationship Managers in North West Region of NatWest back in 1998.

Strong, independent females run in my family – both my sisters run their own businesses and our Mum is President of the International Women’s Club of the Rivera at age of 77!

Runner Beans last autumn

I love my garden, my husband calls our large greenhouse my “woman cave”!  I’ve still got a lot to learn but seem to be very successful with tomatoes & runner beans. Delighted with the cauliflowers we enjoyed this season but failed miserably with beetroot.

We live in a great part of the world and enjoy leaving our back door & hiking, running  or more recently cycling through lovely countryside, although all our exploits involve plenty of hills.

I am a lifetime member of Aldwinians RUFC where both sons enjoyed playing and I did my bit as Treasurer of the Mini & Junior Section for 10 years.  As a family, we had a memorable tour of New Zealand with our oldest & his team mates playing 5 teams as we travelled from Auckland to Christchurch & then flew to the Cook Islands for a final match.
